We at Manac formulate plans concerning environmental activities in accordance to the "Manac Environmental Policies" and check the implementation circumstances through environment-related meetings and internal audits. In order to reduce environmental burdens and secure safety to the human body in all processes from development to disposal, we make efforts to share environmental information to permeate our environmental protection activities, beginning with adherence to legal regulations, among all employees. In order to further our activities concerning environmental problems, the ISO14001 certification was acquired for the Minooki Plant in October, 2003. We shall make further efforts towards continued improvement and expansion to the entire company. |

(1) Appropriate management of chemical substances |

Though on one hand our comfortable and convenient lives are supported by various chemical substances, on the other hand, the environmental and health impacts of certain chemical substances have become a problem. We at Manac strive to reduce chemical substances discharged to the atmosphere and to waters in our production processes and shall continue to engage in environmental-conscious activities directed towards our customers so that in all stages from distribution to usage and disposal, our products will be handled correctly without any problems. |

(2) Reduction and reuse of industrial wastes |
|

|
he reduction of wastes discharged in production processes is an important theme for Manac. We are tackling this theme by setting specific numerical targets for reduction, and providing external disclosure and clarification when necessary to fulfill our social responsibilities. We also make efforts towards reducing amounts transferred externally, for example, by reusing a part of the liquids that have been priorly subject to externally consigned disposal. We shall continue to examine the reuse and recycling of materials to establish a system with which the amounts transferred externally are restrained. |

Manac has been founded and has been deploying industrial activities in the Setouchi area, which is blessed with a mild climate. The protection of this blessed environment is also our industrial mission and we shall deploy our industrial activities with environmental protection activities as a theme of paramount importance.
1. We shall establish frameworks and systems for environmental management and shall review these periodically and continue to make improvements concerning their implementation.
2. We shall adhere to the various laws, agreements, etc. concerning environmental problems and strive to prevent environmental pollution.
3. We shall establish and promote the realization of environmental objectives and targets in our production activities, etc. in consideration of restraining discharge to the atmosphere and reducing wastes.
4. We shall deploy and promote educational activities proactively to improve the awareness and knowledge of all employees. |

This environmental policy is made thoroughly known to all employees and is disclosed as necessary in response to external requests in order to obtain correct understanding by society. |
